Brenda's Garden

They began arriving by the bus load early on Wednesday morning ready to take on a myriad of projects on our recipient's "to do" list! Brenda has been struggling for more than a year with breast cancer. She has not had the energy nor the desire to keep up with her garden and general houshold chores. In comes the 57+ students who chose to spend their spring break doing community service here in Charleston. They cleaned the inside, the outside, her car, and took several loads to the dump! But Brenda's biggest wish of all was answered when they installed a patio off of her porch. A place where she could sit and enjoy the sunshine and watch her beloved pooches Max, Bobby and Emma play. She was overjoyed with the final product, and all of us who spent the day with Brenda left with hearts filled with joy aswell.
